Boats
with Sailmath products have again been competing across the world
this season, with continued success.
Daimler-Chrysler
North Atlantic Challenge.
This transatlantic race was won in convincing fashion by Zaraffa
owned by Skip Sheldon with former Assa Abloy navigator Mark Rudiger
using Deckman for Windows for navigating.
Admirals
Cup
The
winning team was the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club from Australia,
with both boats using Deckman for Windows. In the IRC class, America's
Cup navigator Ian Burns was aboard Robert Oatley's victorious
Wild Oats, after a close tussle with Bribon Telefonic
Movistar, which also had DfW aboard. The next four boats
were also carrying DfW, and two had Sailmath WTP instrument systems.
In
the IMS 600 class, Australian boat Aftershock, navigated
by Volovo Ocean Race veteran Adrienne Cahalan, was also placed
first carrying DfW.
Transpac
After
over a week of racing, just over 4 hours seperated the two Reichel-Pugh
77s in Division 1. Philippe Kahn's Pegasus was the winner,
navigated by Mark Rudiger and Deckman for Windows. Roy E. Disney's
Pyewacket was second, navigated by former Stars and Stripes
navigator Peter Isler.
First
on the water in Division 2 was Bob Lane's Medicine Man
carrying Deckman for Windows. Second to finish was Karl Kwok's
new Transpac 52 Beau Geste, carrying a Sailmath WTP and
Deckman for Windows, navigated by Steve Hayles.
The
Cal 40s had their own class this year, with legendary navigator
Stan Honey sailing his own boat Illusion to victory.
Rolex
Fastnet
Deckman for Windows dominated this offchore classic, being used
on the top six boats in the overall standings, including the winning
boats in both class 0 and 1. The race was won by Charles Dunstan's
NOKIA - Connecting People, with GBR Challenge member
Jules Salter navigating. Class 0 was won by Jazz and
class 1 by Dutch boat Holmatro, both also carrying DfW.
Copa
del Rey
Deckman for Windows was used on the winning boats in both the
IMS 500 and IMS 600 classes. In the big boats, Vicente Tirado's
Caixa Galicia was victorious, with Antonio Orlandi's
Italtel winning the IMS 600 class.
